Dress Code
For those students arriving straight from school, pack your bag in the morning and take it with you to school to ensure you are ready for class. Parents must check our handbook prior to purchasing new dance shoes. Shoe requirements may change each enrollment period. A dance bag that will hold all shoes is required. He/She should bring that bag to every class, whether it is tap, jazz, ballet etc. Make all dance apparel purchases from a retail store which stocks those brands that are acceptable for the proper and modest dress for dance studies. Off-brands often do not fit properly and can be a source of pain and frustration. A cover-up should be worn entering and leaving the studio no matter what the season or weather. Never wear dance shoes outside. No Jewelry should be worn at anytime.
Preschool Dept Classes - any color leotard & tights. Pink ballet shoes. Dance Development students will need to purchase black lace up tap shoes also. Underwear is not necessary when tights are worn. Underwear is necessary when tights are not worn in the hotter months. Hair: hair pulled up off the neck in a ponytail or french-braid. For 6 year olds and under, a bun is preferred. Scrunchies do not hold pony tails. Be sure to use a rubber band to secure the pony tail. Avoid high pony tails.
Ballet Dept Classes –a black leotard is required. No Bra straps are to show. Footed Ballet pink or theatrical pink tights are required. Required Pink
Canvas Ballet Shoes should be purchased from our SAA website. Adults have permission to wear solid colored unitards. T-shirts and other cover-ups are not allowed. Tube socks are not allowed. Shorts are not allowed. Hair: a Bun is required w/ a hairnet or bun cover!
Tap, Jazz, Lyrical Dept Classes–any color leotards & transitional/capri tights. Black Tap and/or Jazz shoes. Lyrical students should purchase Dance Paws. Street clothes and/or baggy clothes are NOT permitted. Hair: hair pulled up off the neck in a ponytail or french-braid.
Hip-Hop Dept Classes– Baggy clothes are permitted in this class. Dance-sneakers are required. Absolutely no jeans! Hair: hair pulled up off the neck in a ponytail or french-braid.
Vocal/Musical Dept Classes- Casual Nice Clothing or dancewear. Absolutely no jeans!
Pilates– gym attire. Barefeet. Please purchase a mat.
BOYS- for Jazz, Tap or Ballet - Black jazz pants or sweat pants, black ballet, jazz or tap shoes, white socks, T-shirt. No baggy shirts. For Ballet black biker shorts.
